Jessica Biel's biography was initially planned to be a vocalist. She attended training and appeared in numerous musical events in her hometown. When she was 12, she presented herself in "The International Modeling and Talent Association Conference" in Los Angeles. Since then she started doing modeling jobs, appearing in several advertisements.

Later on, Biel was selected to star in "7th Heaven", the longest family drama in United States. Her filming career started in 1997 in a drama "Ulee's Gold" which earned her the Young Artist Award. She then starred in a movie "I'll be Home for Christmas" in 1998. She blamed her role in "7th Heaven" for causing her a virtuous image and to avoid herself from losing the contract she posed for a semi-nude photo to be the "Gear" magazine cover. Although most of the people were annoyed by her actions, she managed to stay with the show until her contract expired.

Biel starred in "Summer Catch" in 2001 and in "The Rules of Attraction" a year later. After leaving "7th Heaven", she was chosen to be the female lead in the remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". In 2003, she acted in "Blade: Trinity" before proceeded to star in "Stealth". She made an appearance in "Cellular" where her boyfriend, Chris Evans was also in the show.

When she played in "The Illusionist", she got the "Rising Star Award" during the "Palm Springs International Film Festival" and an "Achievement Award" during the "Newport Beach Film Festival". Later on she starred in "Home of the Brave" in 2006, "Next" and also "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" in 2007.

Michele Bachmann

Michele Bachmann became the first woman to be elected as a Republican to the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Bachmann is a member of both the Financial Services Committee and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. She was an opponent of the Wall Street bailout and the Dodd-Frank legislation.

Bachmann graduated from Anoka High School and Winona State University.

She earned her J.D. at the O.W. Coburn School of Law at Oral Roberts University and her L.L.M. in Tax Law at the College of William and Mary School of Law.

Bachmann and her husband, Marcus Bachmann, own a Christian counseling business called Bachmann & Associates.

The Bachmanns have been married for over thirty years and have five children, Lucas, Harrison, Elisa, Caroline and Sophia.

Michelle and her husband have also taken care of 23 foster children.

Michelle claims to be a "Constitutional Conservative", advocating adherence to the US Constitution.

She is dedicated to the repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care, or what she and others refer to as "ObamaCare".

Bachmann is a promoter of increased domestic oil production and natural gas exploration, specifically in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Bachmann introduced the Light Bulb Freedom of Choice Act, which requires a GAO report to illustrate that fluorescent bulbs have a "clear economic, health and environmental benefits" over that of conventional light bulbs.

Bachmann was raised in a Democratic household, but she claims that she became a Republican during the course of her senior year at Winona State.

Bachmann founded the Tea Party Caucus in 2010.

Bachmann is pro-life.

She was opposed to both variations of the Wall Street bailout for America's financial sector.

Michele supports and encourages the instruction of intelligent design in the public school system..

Bachmann has claimed that global warming and climate change is a hoax.

She has stated that carbon dioxide is "a natural byproduct of nature."

Bachmann encourages both a state and federal constitutional amendment outlawing same-sex marriage and civil unions.

She has received bi-partison praise for her initiatives in Congress on the part of adopted and foster children.

Prior to getting into national politics, Michele worked as a federal tax litigation attorney for the IRS and handled countless civil and criminal lawsuits.

She represents Minnesota's 6th Congressional District, an area containing elements of 6 different counties, stretching from Stillwater through Saint Cloud, together with a number of suburbs of the Minneapolis and Saint Paul.

Bachmann declared her candidacy for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination on June 27, 2011.

Carlos Zambrano

One of the best pitchers in the league this season has been Carlos Zambrano of the Chicago Cubs. Even without great run support, Zambrano has been able to get the job done time and time again. This is saying a lot for a guy that is pitching for a team that has been out of the playoff race for quite a few months.

At only 25 years old Zambrano is one of the best up and coming pitchers in the league. He stands at 6' 5" and weighs in at 255 pounds. It is safe to say that this helps him a lot when on the mound. Not only does his size give him more power, but it also allows him to last longer into the game as well.
Zambrano currently has a record of 14-5; the best in the National League. In addition he has an ERA of 3.31 to go along with 180 strikeouts. All of this adds up to Zambrano being one of the best pitchers in the league. When Cy Young voting comes around at the end of the season Zambrano will probably get a lot of consideration; especially if he can keep up at the pace he is going at.

Zambrano is one of the young guns in the game of baseball. Being that he is only 25 years old, Zambrano will be around for quite a bit longer. This is good news for the Chicago Cubs and their fans; that being if they can sign him long term.

I am so thrilled at how the doll that Q helped to design turned out!

I really have to give her props for prompting me into dreaming her up.

Even though, as my daughter keeps reminding me, she doesn't like dolls.

"Oh, mommy, I really love the doll that you made...for someone," she said this morning, tactfully reminding me with her phrasing that while she has enjoyed having a hand in the design, she is not about to back down from her anti-doll stance anytime soon!

Here is the doll before I clothed her. I stitched a heart with vintage silk thread under her dress, even though it is covered by her clothing in the finished product.

Isn't she sweet?

I love how drowsy and dreamy she is, the way she flops.

Her clothing was made with scraps of cotton homespun, satin ribbon, bits of vintage t-shirt, and repurposed parts from a ballet tutu.

I have to admit I never really understood rag dolls until now.

In fact, I was terrified by the raggedy anne that some family friend gave as a gift when I was very small, and which my mother propped (all unknowing) at the end of my bed until I was old enough to firmly object.

Maybe it was my fear of raggedy anne and andy that resulted in my inability to appreciate rag dolls all these years. Although, oddly enough, I have always admired (and often illustrated) redheads. In fact I would like to be one in my next life!

So let this mark the start of my new appreciation for rag dolls as an art form.

Good thing I just happened to have a yard or two of homespun left over in my project box!

And good thing that I have a daughter with a rampant imagination, ready to inspire with new ideas at every turn!

I hope to be trying my hand at some more rag dolls in the future, if I can find the time between jobs (or during movie nights, as I did with this one!).

I'll just have to order a few more yards of homespun, and break out the rest of my vintage thread collection (I love the wooden spools!) and the basket of vintage fabric scraps that my mother sent from Woodstock!

For the new year...a new doll in progress, made at the request of my daughter!

...my daughter who does not like dolls.

She doesn't want to keep it, I think she just wanted to see me make it.

So this doll will be in the shop as soon as I decide how to dress her.

She is by far the largest doll I've ever made - about 24" tall.

She is made from 100% homespun cotton, and entirely stitched by hand (yes, every stitch!)

Her features are embroidered with thread from my vintage thread collection, and her hair is of mohair yarn. Q picked out the hair color, thread color and dimensions.

I am quite fond of her, and can't wait to find the time to make her clothes!

"The Buster" one of my favorite crowns is currently featured in Moda Kids Magazine!

The photographer for this picture was taken at KIDPICS Photography by the very talented Monica Alvarez.

Moda Kids Magazine is a division of Moda Munchkin: Boutique modeling for children and adults. Moda Munchkin is in the credentialing process to become a fully-licensed model and talent agency. Moda Munchkin has over 250 active children listed, many of which can be found gracing the pages of Moda Kids Magazine."

In addition to my crown being featured, I was given a full-page in the magazine. Take a look. The model for my flower headband in none other than my adorable grand daughter, Brooke.

Visit Moda Magazine and take a look at the preview of their magazine. I can't say enough about how wonderful this magazine was to work with. One of their editors saw my crown in my Etsy Shop, Fiberluscious and asked if I would like to have it featured in a photo shoot in Moda. I sent the crown to KIDSPICS Photography, and it was returned right after their shoot. I had some help with my ad from one of my Doers into Dreamers friends, Tiffany Silverberg. She gave my ad a professional's once over. You can discover her services at her website. I just couldn't afford this kind of advertising on my budget. So I would have to say it was a thrilling and fun opportunity.

I just got in some Japanese paper clay - a wonderful medium! And there is a new doll in the shop, Isabelle!

She is just 6" tall and light as a feather, jointed with wire. Her hair is hand-sewn from mohair, her dress from vintage lace (her polka dot leotard peeks out from underneath) and she wears an aged bronze necklace with a tiny, vintage bell from India.
